Basically Temporal and Advanced are two of the methods VDPAU provides
for interlacing content. I don't know of a good link that explains the
difference but I believe Temporal is a fixed resolution time-based
deinterlacer, so it is fairly efficient with generally good results
for most content. Where it lacks is in video where there is a lot of
fast motion like sports events as moving objects will have a greater
tendency to "jump". Advanced I believe is a combination of multiple
methods that will provide what can be considered the best overall
outcome for deinterlacing content at the expense of the requirement of
a lot of CPU time. I am unsure if either method contains basic inverse
telecine abilities or not.

In googling I found very little, probably due to the wrong terminology
being googled for. Hopefully someone can fill us in with some links.
It would be great to have on the mythtv wiki if it is not already
there.
