Thanks guys, you convinced my :-) (but I am also confused that
the /dev/videoX devices are being created for my two older KNC-ONE DVB-C
cards, but I may have found a plausible explanation for it).

It seems that my two older KNC-ONE cards (mystique clones) had some
extra chips on it like the original KNC-ONE card. Checking google images
I see there's an extra TDA chip and S-VHS connector. My older cards
actually have a S-VHS connector on it but it is blocked by the slot
backplate.

My guess is that the extra TDA chip causes the /dev/videoX devices to be
created. Now I am going to try to see if the new card actually works...I
will report back.
