I'm in a similar situation. I have an MSI GeForce 8400 512MB card
which has worked flawlessly for me for the past 2 years. Over the
weekend I upgraded to 24-fixes and suddenly when I try to watch a
recording I get "Please Wait" indefinitely and see these messages
repeated over and over in the logs: Player(0): Timed out waiting for
free video buffers showing in the logs. Occasionally a program will
play OK but it fails most of the time

I have another frontend in the house using VDPAU on a GT220 which is
working fine, although I think that one has more recent nvidia
drivers. Perhaps I'll try upgrading those on the problem machine

Was anyone able to find a solution?
Dave
