That problem has happened a couple of times to me, and each time I had 
two mythfrontends running. Each one was playing either the same show or 
a different show.

Rebooting will work. If it happens again See if two mythfrontend 
processes are running.

(I had a bad mythpowerbutton script that caused this. Fixed now.)
