RapidMiner itself can be used with the GUI and from command line. In the
MythMiner package, there is a script suitable for cron that calls the
command line version.
Alternatively, you can install RapidAnalytics on the backend server and use
it with your web browser. (But then you need RapidMiner on the desktop machine.)
The easier way is RapidMiner. The process doesn't need to run on the
physical backend machine; MySQL access to your MythTV server is sufficient.
So just run MythMiner on your Mac from cron.

You can tell MythMiner to automatically schedule recordings if they reach a
confidence you specify (e. g. 80 %). The recordings will be schedules with
the lowest priority in the normal recordings group. I didn't elect to use a
special recording group because then you would need to check periodically
there if something was recorded. The way it is now, the recordings appear in
the default group but don't interfere with your scheduled recordings because
those have the default priority.
All this is explained on the web page, http://tud.at/programm/mythminer/
I'd like to transfer MythMiner discussions from this mailing list to the
forum because I don't usually read mythtv-users.
