No, you can't really expect a commercial organisation to not do 
something that makes it more money - because that is what they are 
there to do*. You should complain to the authorities that allowed 
them an effective monopoly on pay TV - and to abuse that position to 
control all elements of it; ie the hardware used to receive it, the 
EPG, and by controlling the EPG, controlling visibility of channels 
(especially those from competitors).

* The primary purpose of a commercial organisation is to maximise 
return for it's investors (shareholders).
