other alternatives are an option, but since the backend is running on an ITX board, i only have 1x PCIe slot available, hence a hybrid card.
my current solution is the RMA'd dual DVB-S2 pcie card, and a USB DVB-T which has proven to be very fussy.

Digital devices have a variety of low profile dual tuner cards that can be connected to each other or to a separate PCIe bridge.
This means you can have up to four dual tuner cards on one PCIe socket. You do need space for the tuner cards though.

A little correction on the state of driver support for Linux; The DVB-S2 cards and the Octopus PCIe bridge card seems to work quite well, but the DVB-C/T card is unstable.
