For the backend errors I suggest you look at the wiki and perform a database
repair and optimization daily.

Have you tried any other profiles like Slim? Do you get the same results?

What exactly is the display difference between VDPAU and CPU+?  By
displaying only in the middle half of the screen do you mean you have black
bars on the left and right of the video??

The "video frame buffering failed too many times" gives me the impression
your backend is not able to feed data fast enough to your frontend.
