I found this as well, as well as some flicker as the system seems to
navigate into the relevant plugin menu before starting playback; I
couldnt find a way to stop it. I also would rather that the system
returned to the place it was in before playback was started. Like if
the system is showing a slideshow gallery and playing music, once a
video playback is initiated and stopped the system reverts to the
gallery and music.

Unfortunately although progress has been made there is still
limitations in the network control port (ncp) in controlling all
actions without sending keystrokes, mythmusic control for instance is
far from ideal. Once the ncp fully supports "intents" and all the
capability provided via the onscreen UI it opens the door to all sorts
of innovation such as simpler UIs, improved tablet control in
combination with on screen UIs that are more aligned with the tablet
being the primary control interface.
