Where exactly is menu/scan within mythvideo? Do you mean Video Manager?

I really don't think so. I have 777 on my whole mythvideo structure. As
my mythtv user I can create and delete directories and files within the
structure. 

Is there somewhere I can see some kind of log of mythvideo trying to see
the files so I might be able to determine the issue?
