so what the guy told me is that, since these are one-way devices, they
have no way of receiving information back from the device as to
whether it is working, etc. All they can do is send the signals and
hope it works.

part of that process is knowing information about the card that is on
the "CableCARD(tm) Pairing" page to enter into their system. he told
me they blanked the old information and inserted the card into the
system anew, this time though they also asked me for the UnitAddress
value, which is similar to the CableCARD ID value but with a different
last number (in my case 103 instead of 9). After that my card received
the signal.

I am having an issue tuning some channels though. The Ceton log shows
everything is fine but I get "Error opening jump program file buffer"
on my frontend (which is remote from the backend and does not have
Ronald's patches applied).
Ron, is this something your patch fixes that I should apply it to my
frontends as well, or is this possibly something else entirely?
