Well, keeping unconnected Video Sources (and Capture Cards) isn't a
well-tested (possibly not even a supported) configuration. Anecdotally,
it has been known to cause problems (where everything appears to work
fine for a while, then one day, mythbackend is restarted and nothing
works/there are no upcoming recordings/guide data is wrong/...).

If you delete the channel from which you recorded a show, you will see
see #1234 (or whatever the channel ID is) in the UI rather than channel
number or callsign. If you get a new, but different, channel with the
same callsign, the UI would show the recording as being from the wrong
channel. I was willing to live with both of these issues--especially
since Watch Recordings is a temporary location for me (I watch and
delete everything). For those who want to archive old recordings from
no-longer-existent channels, you can move them to MythVideo videos.

Eventually, I plan to fix these issues such that the recordings do not
depend on channel definitions, but it won't be until after the new
recorded file schema change is complete.

Mike
