Excellent question.  If I knew, I'd fix it.  :)  I have some guesses 
that it's related to improperly-parented recording rules, but haven't 
been able to repro it so I can investigate.  (I think there was a period 
a while back where MythWeb wasn't updated for some changes and it 
created such rules.  However, it's since been fixed, which is why I 
guessed that it would work after deleting and re-creating the rule.)

Thanks for the follow-up, Joel.  Knowing that it fixed it for you, I may 
be able to fuzz some recording rule data and repro it.
