There is. Its much newer. The stock EL5 qt is too old for MythTV, so
you end up having to have dual qt stacks. There are far more v4l/dvb
device drivers available out of the box on EL6 as well -- with even
more coming in 6.1.

(I'm running RHEL6.1-to-be on my MythTV systems at home these days).

I've been running nothing but 64-bit systems for the better part of
a decade now, not sure why there would be any hesitation at all to
use 64-bit.
