[mythtv-users] Mythfrontend hangs on MythNews plugin

I'm running MythTV 0.24 (atrpms) and I can't get the MythNews plugin to work.
I ended up clearing all the cached items then unticking all the news items and deleting 
them all before it started responding ok

I turned on the verbose and I did notice alot of these msgs

So I disabled the CD/DVD setting and reran but frontend still hangs I have to killall 
mythtfrontend to recover the system.

After all this I could see some news items but when I selected items I'm getting a whole 
bunch of errors in the frontend log file
