Trying not to start any wars, nor be accused of telling you that you 
have to use Schedules Direct, nor offend anyone's sensibilities in any 
other way, I'll simply say that your cable company likely doesn't want 
you to be able to get good listings data off their lines--they rent STBs 
to allow you to see listings.  Your description of what you see sounds 
like exactly what I'd expect you to see with a properly working MythTV 
system using cable TV in the US.
