Definitely, this is exactly how MythPodcaster works. Each RSS Feed/Podcast
correponds to a MythTV recording rule or show. And you can have multiple
RSS feeds for a recording rule (i.e. an audio-only feed, a high-quality
video feed, and a low-quality video feed).

I developed & run MythPodcaster on Fedora, but I know that people have
installed it on Ubuntu with only a few differences from Fedora. There's
nothing preventing it from running on Ubuntu or any other Linux
distribution. Here's a link to the Wiki page with some installation tips:
