In `mythtv-setup`, under the General tab, first page, there are two IP 
settings, the Local IP and Master IP.  The Local IP tells that backend 
what address it is to listen on, and other machines where they can 
access it at.  The Master IP determines which machine will function as 
master.  On startup, if a backend's local IP matches that of the master, 
it will run as the master.
