[mythtv-users] "Error opening jump program file" from Clientmachines with Live TV

Hi Mike

I interpreted page 2 of the Frontend setup as a place to put the identifier
for the backend system you are connecting to following on from page 1 where
you put in the IP number of the backend server.  However I noticed that in
the logs it was failing at the point "Spawning Live TV Recorder with the
next line "Updated Pathname" apparently putting front end attributes to the
backend path producing the error on the next line "Should be local but
cannot be found".

It appears when I first configured the system I must have had the "User
custom Identifier for Frontend Preferences unchecked" allowing the client to
work and later trying to standardise the configuration of each from end put
the host name of the backend in each.

The documentation I found that explains these screens in detail applied to
0.19 so it would be good to find updated detailed documentation for 0.23.

Changing the Custom identifier to the local host name of the client
completely resolved the error on both client machines and live TV is working
again all round.

It appears that the other error in the logs that was leading me in the wrong
direction "LIRC, Error: Failed to connect to Unix socket ' was a red herring
as this error is found in the working Frontend system too.

Assuming you are describing two separate machines, it appears they both have
the same HOSTNAME. Check that *all* the .mythtv files on *both* machines
have the correct content.
