Looking back through the thread I can see that the password was changed
in one of the commands that another reader suggested you run:

(the last command executed, the "UPDATE user SET password ...")

Anyways, I agree don't wipe it out and start again. The successful
connections you had show that you can get access to the database from
both localhost and the external IP address which is all that is needed.

So it looks like it will work now - just follow Bill's instruction above
to change the passwords in the files and Myth Backend should start-up
properly.

Ignore my comment about the localhost entry in /etc/hosts - if its
working lets not change anything else.  And don't forget to change the
password on any other frontends too if you have them.
