I have an ION 330 as well.  I don't use subtitles and still experienced the
video issues (shuttering) when using VDPAU.  I put it down to Slim and it
works well enough (still some shuttering).

It is strange to me that I am experiencing it without the typical setup
people have (subtitles) that would cause it.

I am planning on upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 and Myth 0.24 once both of them
are relatively stable.
