The possibility of sharing a single LNB feed sounded interesting, but then I may just 'bite the bullet' and go crawling around in my underfloor space and run another cable over to my quad LNB which still has one port free.

If you have a free port it's not worth the hassle, you need a strong signal for it to work well. With a good splitter each card gets a third of the signal, by the time you add in the extra cables and dc blocker if that's separate a quarter strength would be the best you would get, PC sat cards often need a stronger signal than a decent STB.

The way I've done it you cannot ever tune those cards to any other muxes, they don't follow in step like Freesat or Sky box single feed mode. Only really useful if you have other feeds and cards for everything else. I'm sure someone with coding skills could produce a patch for such a mode but that won't be me.

To get more ports I need to pay our communal system installers £120 for another dual port feed so for me it's a cheap way to get good use out of cards that I thought were junk.

SD channels are so overoverovercompressed now that HD on my old SD CRT still looks miles better but I'm a fussy b**** and used to seeing studio and outside broadcast truck output. ;-)
