I think he may be saying, perhaps in a non-diplomatic way, what I have learned over the years.

The more I find myself banging my head against the wall when struggling with some problem, the more likely it is I have
made some obvious blunder, and the harder I smack myself in the forehead when I finally figure it out.

I'm not saying this is the case, but I don't think that post was intended to be offensive, just a gentle reminder of a
basic truth.

You do in fact seem to be doing things correctly, but there is a limit to what people on the other end of text messages
can perceive.

I recall trying to help someone through a DOS problem years back, over the phone. When I told him to type "del *.*", I had
no way to know he was actually typing "del star dot star". Of course I would have spotted it immediately if I was looking
over his shoulder.

Sometimes its best to take a step back and start from the beginning, with no pre-conceived notions about the problem.

With VERY rare exceptions the folks here really do want to help you get up and running. I'm sure you will get things
working eventually, just be sure not to smack yourself too hard if the problem turns out to be obvious in hindsight.
