TTBOMK, no.  You could always set up a script for Recording deleted that 
logs some information (or whatever).

Why not just delete it from within playback.  Hit D or Escape, then 
scroll to one of the Delete options, then (if you have the prompts 
enabled, confirm the delete).

I don't know why you've seen the wrong show deleted sometimes.  Perhaps 
when exiting playback, under some conditions, the selection may change 
as the view is reshuffled due to changes?

You may want to enable:

Auto Expire Instead of Delete Recording
Instead of deleting a recording, move recording to the 'Deleted' 
recgroup and turn on autoexpire.

(the "Recycle Bin" of MythTV).
