You might want to update to >= 260.19.21 as the latest changelog states:

"Fixed a bug in VDPAU that caused it to attempt allocation of huge
blocks of system memory. This regression was introduced in the 260.*
driver series."

If updating to the latest driver doesn't help you might want to
provide a small sample of the video for a developer to take a look at.
