On my 0.23.1 system with similar specs, I have the following /etc/asoundrc:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 3
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
}
The above, along with ALSA:HDMI in the frontend setup seems to work
for me. With 0.24's new sound handling, I'm not sure how it might
differ when I upgrade to 0.24.
