You *could* force the devices to a different known device name no matter 
how they are defined during boot (e.g. /dev/video800), see
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Device_Filenames_and_udev#Obtaining_identifying_information

A workaround but enough to keep you running!  Maybe!
