[mythtv-users] Two machines, one has pre-buffering, once doesn't

I have 2 machines I use as a frontend. My main frontend has prebuffering 
pauses on some untranscoded network programs recording OTA (Castle, Chuck). 
My laptop can play the same programs without pauses.

The laptop is a 2ghz Intel (Thinkpad Z61m) with Radeon Mobility X1400 
graphics, running on 802.11g wireless networking.

The frontend itself is 2.6ghz Athlon 64 (but running 32bit linux), Nvidia 
GeFroce 8200 on the motherboard, 100mbit wired networking, not runngin 
VDPAU.

The machines are using identical playback profiles.

I'm stumped. Where do I start looking ?
