[mythtv-users] "Watch Recordings" some frontends slow, some fast?

Except for my macbook, all stuff shared across (linux) machines are
all mounted in the same place , all users have the same uid/gid's, etc
I tried clearing out all the $HOME/.mythtv/*cache on the slow machine,
no difference.

the directories that are compromise storage groups exist on all the
machines (except on my MacBook, which oddly enough is the one that
works the best).

in the frontend that is slow I get the following in the log when I go
into the watch recordings screen:
