Hi
I have two mythtv installation. One is mythbuntu 9.04 with both frontend
and backend. Another debian
lenny with frontend only. mythbuntu machine has all disks my house
automounted on /var/lib/mythvideos so that I can watch all videos from
that machine on my TV. I was hoping a similar thing is possible from my
debian box.
I installed mythvideo on the lenny box and setup /var/lib/mythvideo with
symlink to all automounted video dirs in the home network. After that I
was thinking that the debian box will use its local filesystem under
/var/lib/mythvideo (not videos) to show me the videos. However it seem
to look at my mythbuntu box for the videos. Is this how mythvideo is
supposed to work?
Ignoring the which box/filesystem question, I proceeded to select videos
menu. Everything looked fine. i am able to see the dir structure and can
navigate to a ripped DVD I want. However attempting to play the dvd
results in unable to open error.
BTW the debian lenny calls videos repository as /var/lib/mythvideo (no
s) and mythbuntu calls it /var/lib/mythvideos. On the lenny box, if I
set the video repository path (setup -> media settings -> video setup?)
to match the local dir (var/lib/mythvideo) the video navigation starts
at /var. If I set it to match that in the mythbuntu box
(var/lib/mythvideos) then it finds all the automounted stuff on the
mythbuntu box!
I don't care much about the path issue, I am more interested in seeing
all the videos on the lenny box. How do I do that? What setup am I missing?
