Well, in addition to maybe changing cards (which you really shouldn't
have to, but...)
Maybe some more info about the content you are playing back.
Maybe some Mythfrontend logs when the issue is happening to show if
you are seeing any errors while having these issues.

Also, in the profile you are trying to use, the settings you have.
I would assume you have both the decoder and renderer set to VDPAU.
What about the custom filter field on the screen where you set the
deinterlacer? Is there anything in there?
Have you tried adjusting the vdpaubuffersize in that field?

You can also try playing the file in mplayer (if you have it
installed) using a correct command line that matches what you are
doing in the MythTV playback profile.

Maybe something like: mplayer -vo vdpau: deint=3 -vc
ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau, <filename>

The deint settings are:
0 No deinterlacing.
1 Show only first field
2 Bob deinterlacing
3 Motion adaptive temporal deinterlacing
4 Motion adaptive temporal deinterlacing with edge-guided spatial
interpolation.

These may have changed/updated since I had recorded them in my notes.
