Yeah thats the same reason I had to switch over, got the message the 
analog would be going away. Basically I got the digital starter kit, 
which as far as I know and expect that included 3 STB (1 of which can be 
the bigger box used for on demand) When I asked about getting a fourth 
thats when I was told about $2 rental fee for the additional STB.
I asked about buying it outright, and the answer i got was people have 
been asking and they are thinking about it. But as far im concerned I 
better no be charged rental fees for the other 3 STB.
I also was a bit fortunate the larger STB was a basic motorola 6200, but 
wouldnt enable. The guy that came switched out for a higher end model 
which had firewire, which works perfect in mythtv.
