It's not an issue with Alsa, it's an issue of MythTV.

When MythTV detects that you are outputting digital output, it
configures the alsa audio port to be digital out.
When you're back to playing a PCM stream (like in mythmusic) it
doesn't properly reset the alsa output

This is fixed in trunk and will be in 0.23
