Well, I started doing that, but quickly switched to scte56.  Do you
perhaps have a neighbor with a digital box whose menu you can quickly
examine to get the VCT_ID?  Barring that you should pay particular
attention to the local access (community channels).   They are likely
to be the ones which differ most from town/county to town/county.

On the other hand, unless you plan to record your local school board
meetings, it MAY not matter that much which one you pick.  I seem to
recall identical tunings for the non-local access channels.  Of
course, it may be different in your area.
