Well, bad news is that things aren't better this week after turning off
real time commercial processing.
The recording was indeed unavailable until after it was recorded, but I
still got the random slowdowns of the picture.
I listened carefully and I also had some very slight artifacts in the sound.

Is there any chance whatsoever that the problem could be on the side of my
hdhomerun?
I suppose I could try recording this one show over firewire from the comcast
box.
