I've just about given up on mythNetVision but here's what I've found:

With myth FE shutdown I can play flash/hulu/etc with sound in firefox.
 As soon as I launch myth FE the audio cuts off from firefox.
Similarly mythnetvision has no sound.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with PulseAudio and myth 0.23-fixes (JYA).
