No can do. The receiver doesn't have HDMI, just SPDIF.

I will be pissed as all hell if that is the case. I'm sick and tired of
all this DRM crap. Really, though, isn't the situation that a protected
path is only supposed to be configured if the source end asserts rights?
Shouldn't the lack of such an assertion (which I sure hope my PC is not
doing) mean that the path should be open?
