[mythtv-users] using Nova TD500 remote without the TV card

Hi,

I've decided to take the plunge and separate my frontend and backend. But this leaves me with a question of what to do with my remote. 

I have a Hauppauge WinTV Nova TD 500 freeview card, and I currently use the remote via the IR receiver that plugs into the back of the card.

If I want to keep using the remote on my new frontend, does anyone know a way of doing this that will work. I assume I'd need to buy some sort of IR USB receiver, but perhaps it needs to be compatible with the remote? 

Or should I just buy a new remote and save myself the trouble? Any recommendations?
