After much wrestling, I was able to exchange the intel-agp for the 
nvidia-agp but with no success in result.

Temperature was not the issue at 52 degree peak during the issues.

I then tried turning off all of the de-interlacers for video of less 
than 720 and voila! I appear to have stability as I could no longer 
reproduce the issue.

VDPAU Normal profile was using Advanced 2x and fallback of Advanced 1x. 
I set them to "None".

I now leave it to my kids to break it.

If someone else has this issue, it would be nice to confirm if you get 
the same result.

Note, I did leave the nvidia-agp driver installed rather than revert back.
