I've had this problem when permissions/ownership of recording 
directories wasn't set correctly. Also during my last install the 
recording directory wasn't what I assumed it would be and it didn't 
exist. I'd go into the backend and verify the location of the recording 
directories and then verify existence/ownership/permissions of those 
directories.
