I just found Ticket #7425: 0001-Fixes-7425.-Update-tree-position-remmeber-functiona.patch (20 Jan 2010).

This fixes the "Video tree remembers last selected position". I tried it today and it works.
I really missed that from  the prior mythtv version.

It would be really nice if this could be expanded to remember the last selected position in all the sub-folders too.
