I was engaging in a thread in mythbuntu forums. The other poster has
converted his vobs to mkvs so he can use storage groups. He used
makemkv and they seek fine, just a data point for someone who happens
to read this thread.

(makemkv is NOT open source, but does work on linux as well as windows
and that fruit one)
