This seems quite an odd response given that only three people had
responded.  If you want help, expect help. The help offered was 'figure out
the source of your problem'.

If you're not using the fan, you probably don't have enough air-flow to cool
the CPU. Your options are probably: Live with it or add the fan.  If you're
concerned about noise, you can always use a Zalman Fan Mate 2 (
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118217) or similar
voltage reducer. (I have one I got ages ago w/ a heatsink.)

One of those would let you turn the speed of the fan down (and thus, any
noise) and you could find a happy medium between silence and coolness.
