[mythtv-users] VDPAU poor playback - stuttering with mythvideo and internal player

Hi mythtv users,

I ran into difficulty last night trying to play an mkv movie file under
mythvideo.

I have a zotac ION frontend (dual core) and a gigabit network between it and
my backend.

Things have been working fairly smoothly for quite a while now, but this
clip just won't play nice.
I can confirm that it plays fine from windows using VLC on my desktop. The
clip has a res of 1280x692 (from memory) and when it is played on the
frontend, it stutters very badly - completely unwatchable.

top reported CPU usage at 114% for mythfrontend when trying to play this
clip.

The mythfrontend log contains the following (see at end of post)

I have no issue playing any other HD content (720P and 1080i) from free to
air (DVB-T) over the same equipment.

Any thoughts on this? I can supply a video sample if some one would like to
test this on their setup (what is the best way of chopping a sample of the
video to make it available?)
