I have 3 USB wireless sticks for testing. They are:

Netgear WG111V2 - a RealTek RTL8187L chip - uses rtl8187
LevelOne WNC-0301USB - a RealTek RTL8187B chip - also uses rtl8187
Dell Wireless 1450 USB - a Prism chip - uses p54usb - needs external firmware

All work equally well with ~23-24 Mb/s download and ~20 Mb/s upload. The Dell
has an advantage in that it comes with a USB extension cable that allows one to
position it for best signal.
