OK, I've sat on this for 3 months and I'm still having the same 
problem.  I thought that maybe a few updates to 0.22-fixes may have 
helped but it hasn't.  I have 2 recordings that I'm trying to put onto a 
DVD.  The first time I try, I leave the default settings where they were 
(SP profile and "Use mythtranscode" checked).  The 2nd time, I uncheck 
"Use mythtranscode".  It fails both times saying "Waited too long for 
mythtranscode to create the fifos - giving up!!".

So, question 1: what is making mythtranscode take too long?  and 2) why 
do I get the exact same error when I told it to NOT use mythtranscode?
