Thanks for the responses about firmware - that indeed fixed the channel 
scanning problem.  I now have 384(! some trimming required...) channels 
to choose from, however I don't know what's on any of them - the EIT 
scanning doesn't seem to be working (I left it overnight with the tuner 
not in use so it should have been available for scanning, but still 
nothing this morning).  I notice that there are a few different versions 
of firmware available - I used v1.26.90.0 - are some better than others 
when it comes to things like EIT scanning?
