I ran the command 'sudo checkinstall' after doing the compile and the 
perl/python bindings were not being included in the deb package.
I didn't use the --include switch to force the inclusion of the perl/python 
bindings because I didn't think it was necessary.

I actually find dpkg-deb --build (this is what I used when creating my own 
deb packages for MythTV 0.21) easier to use, this was the first time I tried 
out checkinstall.
