Here's a log of the frontend run with "-v recording,playback,channels,extra":

I noticed a couple of things that don't look quite right to me:

1. On line 174 it says "cardtype(DUMMY)". Should it have the actual card type? 
When I do the backend setup it shows the card type  as "Hauppauge EXETER 
[cx231xx]".

2. On line 265 it says video dimensions are 720x576, and on line 322 it says 
the video frame rate is 25.000. It's not trying to display this as PAL is it? 
I've double checked and the format is set as NTSC in the backend.

That's all I've come up with from the logs.
