I was wondering the same thing regarding PlayOn and TVersity.  They
claim to be no different than Boxee, but Boxee does not "transcode".
I would stay away from the expensive lifetime subscription due to
this...

On another note, is anyone using PlayOn/TVersity to serve VDPAU
compatible video to a Linux host?  I have done a few tests on my Acer
Revo, but have not found a solution to "force" the video type with
PlayOn.
